Love walking!

I really, really enjoy walking for exercise. I'm so blessed to live
in a bee-yootiful area to walk in too. Nice wide sidewalks and
tons of pretty stuff to look at. There are always people around...
walking dogs, jogging, riding bikes. It's funny how we'll see the
same people and sometimes at the same time like they have
their regular walking time. We joke about it being a dog parade
around here too with so many dogs out with their owners:
"There are the two poofy white dogs!", "There's pink sweatsuit
lady and her poodle!"

When I get out and walk, it just clears my head and makes
me feel good about myself. I know a lot of people listen to music
when they're out jogging or walking. I do that occasionally but
not usually. I like to hear what is going on around me... ducks
quacking, children laughing, golfers teeing off.

I have a treadmill but much prefer walking outside. There's so

much to look at and observe it just makes the time go by so quickly. A lot of times I'll use my walking time to pray. I'll get so wrapped up in praying for people that I will suddenly realize I've gone half my route without even noticing it. You can't beat that!

The coolest thing I saw yesterday while walking was an old, old,

OLD ambulance that someone had restored and was driving
through our community. It looked like a big station wagon with
an extra high top on it. I laughed out loud when I saw it. I keep
meaning to poke around online and find out what decade that old
thing lived in.

I'm not enjoying the time change with it getting dark so early.

I can hardly get home from work and get out the door before it
gets dark. Thank goodness my community also has good streetlights.

I love it too --- your community is FAR more fabulous than ours is ... we have rinky-dink trees that are barely starting to grow upwards. You have trees that cast shadows all the way across the street! I love to go in the morning when I drop off William - I see the hustle and bustle of families trying to get out the door, teenagers waiting for the bus, and I too see the same people over and over again. Cool stuff, and what a blessing that we have 2 working legs and feet with which to walk on every day!
